Where She Slept – Budapest, Hungary

I am not very trusting of other people, so when the hostel owners convinced a group of us to go out with them and took us to a really nice bar just around the corner from the place, I grew pretty wary and decided not to drink anything. It was strange, the owners seemed a little too friendly with the waiters and the fact that they brought out shots for the table and four bottles of wine before we could even order made me a little suspicious that there was some sort of dubious activity going on behind our backs. Boy was I happy when the check came out that I hadn’t had anything to drink. It came out to be more than 100 Euros, way more than anyone was expecting. Arguing ensued about the price and I, having not consumed anything and therefore under no obligation to pay, sneaked away back to my bed.

But despite this rather interesting evening (which I still don’t quite understand), this was definitely the best hostel yet. I was really excited about Friends Hostel because it was so cheap, but when I booked this place, I totally took the name for granted. This was the first hostel I stayed at more than one night and that really paid off. I made some wonderful friends here that I will not soon forget. They made my stay super unique and memorable.

So here’s to looking past the shady events of one evening and remembering the great ones of the others.

You’re very savvy. I don’t think I would have been as restrained.
