These glamorous sleeping accommodations are on the floor of a friend’s dormroom in Heidelberg. My friend Philippe is a new law student at the university here, and I decided it would be a good place to start out my adventure in Germany. It was weird to be re-entering civilization after Iceland, but I have really enjoyed having a place to relax and recuperate (I slept about 11h last night!).
The evening was spent chatting with Philippe and his new friends from school over a delicious glass of wine. This morning was spent doing laundry. I’m so happy to be back in Germany, though it feels different now. This time I am here to travel and not to live.
But when it comes to this country, these people, this food, and this wine, I will take whatever I can get.
